Chapter 1: A New Beginning

An 18 year old Angelique Blanchard was standing out in the middle of a field, staring at a full moon. She had come here because she needed time to herself. Her mother was just too overbearing at the moment.

*Flashback*

“I don’t know why you are making such a big deal about this mom!”

Angelique’s mother walked towards her daughter.

“Angel, you may think that just because you are turning 18, that means that you are grown. Well, it doesn’t and you will not yell at me like that.”

Angelique rolled her eyes.

“I wasn’t yelling at you. I ‘m just trying to make a point. Almost every other kid is going on this senior trip and you won’t let me go. You’ve never let me go anywhere!”

“It was so that I could keep you safe.”

“Safe from what?”

Angelique’s mother turned around and began to pace.

“There are many dangers in this world that you have to be protected from.”

Angelique rolled her eyes again.

“So what, it’s nothing I can’t handle. That’s why you made me take karate remember?”

“There are things in this world that karate can’t protect you from!” Angelique’s mother yelled at her.

Angelique balled up her fists.

“Fine, have it your way. I won’t go on the trip!”

Angelique grabbed her jacket and walked towards the door.

“Where are you going?” her mother asked.

“The one place I can without you intervening.”

*End Flashback*

So here Angelique stood in the middle of an empty field staring vacantly at the moon.

‘I didn’t mean to yell at her.’ Angelique thought to herself.

‘I just don’t understand why she never lets me go anywhere. I just want to spend some time with my friends. What dangers is she so worried about?’

Angelique closed her eyes softly and let the cool night breeze blow through her hair.

Suddenly she heard a twig snap behind her and she quickly opened her eyes to see what was there. She looked all around, but she saw nothing. She started to get a little frightened.

“Maybe I should be getting back home now.” She said to herself.

She turned around and began to make her way back towards her house. She walked a bit quicker than usual wanted to get home as fast as possible. But, her quick steps soon halted when her eyes beheld a most peculiar sight. A pink mist began to fall from the sky.

“What the hell?” Angelique said puzzled. The pink mist fell up on her dampening her hair and her clothes.

Angelique noticed that the mist had a strong odor to it and it kind of made her feel kind of dizzy.

“I’ve got to get home.” She said softly. She started to run back towards her house but, her running had only made her even dizzier. She stopped running and held her head in her hands.

‘What is the world is going on?’ she thought doing her best to stay up right.

Angelique knew she needed to get away from the mist but she couldn’t get the strength to move anymore.  Finally the strong smell had taken its told and Angelique could no longer stay and awake and she passed out on the ground.

Soon after she fell, the pink mist ceased to fall. A pair of glowing red eyes made their way out of the woods and soon a tall man with brown hair appeared. He quickly ran over to where Angelique had fallen.

He smiled down at her and gently ran his hand over her cheek.

‘She surely has grown since the last time I saw her.’ He thought to himself.

He sighed and gently picked Angelique up in his arms and whispered softly in her ear.
